Water Issues

This past weekend, the Anderson Independent shared a story about lead found in water in 5 of 25 areas checked in the City of Belton. Anderson School District Two is working closely with the City of Belton and the Belton-Honea Path Water Authority to ensure our patrons are aware of this issue. Although the Belton-Honea Path Water Authority serves both the Belton and Honea Path areas, the City of Belton is the only area in our district that demonstrated concern of lead in the lines. We understand that the City of Belton and the Belton-Honea Path Water Authority under the guidelines of DHEC intend to provide an additive in the pipelines that will provide a protective barrier in the very near future. Anderson School District Two completed a clean water test two years ago and will provide one again in the next few weeks. We will also be flushing our water through the lines early in the mornings as an extra precaution per EPA best management practices. We will continue work with these entities to ensure that we are protecting the staff and students at our schools.
