Mr. Jason Johns
Superintendent
Mr. Jason Johns began serving the fine school district of Anderson 2 on July 1, 2021.
Mr. Johns grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina where he attended Trinity Christian School. Mr. Johns enjoyed participating in athletics at both the high school and college level. Mr. Johns earned is B.A. and M.A. from Winthrop University. Mr. Johns began his teaching career as an English Teacher at Rock Hill High School in 2001, where he was selected as the First-Year Teacher of the Year. He taught English 1, 3, and 4 as well as Advance Placement English Literature. Mr. Johns served for three years as the Rock Hill School District High School Literacy Coach, then in 2008 served as an Assistant Principal at Northwestern High School for five years.
In 2013 Mr. Johns was appointed as principal at Banks Trail Middle School then served as principal at Nation Ford High School for six years. Under his leadership, Nation Ford was recognized twice as a Palmetto’s Finest Finalist and as a National Blue Ribbon School. Mr. Johns served on professional organizations with SCASA, SDE, and SCHSL. He served as President for 5A as well as the 5A representative for the SCHSL Executive Committee.
Mr. Johns holds advance degrees from Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina, and is currently completing his EdD degree in Educational Systems Improvement Science at Clemson University. He is a graduate of the SC SDE School Leadership Executive Institute (SLEI) as well.
Mr. Johns has been married to his wife Jennifer for twenty-four years and they have six children (Isaiah, Palmer, Lenna, Jude, Monroe, and Farrah). Isaiah attends USC and serves in the National Guard; Palmer is a Junior at SC Governor’s School of Agriculture at John de la Howe; while Lenna, Jude, Monroe, and Farrah will be attending the best school district in South Carolina – Anderson 2!
The Johns family lives in the wonderful Anderson 2 community.
